CJ entry for Cronie - How do you feel today?

Well, you asked! How do I feel today? Here's your answer.

I used an image from a magazine advertising the museums of Cognac as it seemed to fit the bill. I cut it out and stuck it down with gel medium on a gessoed page, then added lots of red, orange and yellow paint. I used a Tim Holltz clock mask, although you can barely see it, and some Timmy stamps. Once I rubbed off the image it was a bit patchy but it reminds me of many of the old houses here which have painted adverts on which are now peeling and fading, so it stayed out of the bin! Stamped the title with some Technique Tuesday stamps, added glossy accents and white oil pastel shadows, then stamped the words underneath with some other stamps which I can't recall the make of. The title looks patchy (Stazon ink is drying out) which I like, and cloudy because I took the picture before the glossy accents had dried. I'm pleased with the overall effect, and hopefully it's art journally enough to fir the bill.

Art Journal CJ Entry 1 from Sian to Chris

Hello Secret Swappers,

Here's my entry for Chris's "She" theme. I do believe she mentioned liking christy Tomlinsons She Art and as I love it too and have a number of those stamps I decided to style a page on it. Styling a page on it became scraplifting *cough* copying *cough* one of Christy's pages... here's the pics:

Here is the original artwork from Christy Tomlinson:

And here's some piccies of my "lifted" version:

This is the background before I added the "She Leaped" figure. I stamped a She Art background all over the paper then drew the black lines with a medium pitt pen, added some "stitching" and patterns/lines then used pro-markers to colour it all in. I also added some She Art rub-ons you can see the green circles, yellow heart, purpls circles, white stitching... finally I added some She Art die cuts... butterflies, bird and flowers.

I'm not sure how appealing this is to people who aren't She Art friendly/aware... but I absolutely love it and will be making more versions for myself - hopefully Chris will like it too :)
